Jenny Forward grew up in the Huon Valley and has been living in Kingston for the past 3 years. She is well aware of the some of the hardships faced by disadvantaged communities because as a single mother she studied at University as a mature age student whilst working part-time. Jenny a former tenant's advocate and child protection worker currently works full-time as a social worker in a public hospital with migrants and refugees. Jenny has been an activist for 25 years in Australia and Chile (where she has lived) and is an active union member. She has campaigned for worker's, women's, children's, single mother's, Aboriginal and refugee rights and for international solidarity. She has also been involved in environmental, anti-war and anti-racism campaigns.
Jenny says: "I am standing as a candidate for Socialist Alliance as I believe that together we can build an independent and grass-roots resistance that places the environment and people before profit.
